In The Couple Next Door, Sam Heughan plays Danny, a traffic cop in Leeds, living in an open marriage with Becka (played by Jessica De Gouw). Their seemingly peaceful life in the suburbs is suddenly stirred up when they befriend the neighboring couple Evie (Eleanor Tomlinson) and Pete (Alfred Enoch). The friendship quickly slides into desires, lies and secrets that keep the audience glued to their seats.
Danny is a morally ambiguous character β imperfect, with bad choices β which Sam Heughan thinks is extremely interesting and completely opposite to the heroic image of Jamie Fraser in Outlander.
Special features: To fully transform, Sam learned a Leeds accent and directly performed many dangerous motorcycle racing scenes, showing a serious investment in building a completely new image.
